Problem
Due to Covid-19, classes were strictly virtual attendance. Because Band is a very hands-on type of class, and this required pre-recorded lessons for students to play along to. Band Director Paige Smith was faced with the problem of keeping her students engaged and their passion for music alive, while not being able to play with her students over virtual classrooms.
Project Description
Mrs. Smith approached me to create an animated intro that she would be able to put at the beginning of her lesson videos. She wanted to engage her 5th and 6th grade students with a flashy intro while incorporating an easter of the school district school song at the end.
Concept
I decided to utilize the school colors and create individual instruments, of Maroon and Robin's Egg Blue, within all sections of the band so every student had something to connect to. I initially covered Orchestra, Choir, and Band. After review, I kept the the graphics to cover only Percussion, Brass, and Woodwinds of Band.
